What are the costs?
.
Answer: The way we figure cost is the Director will hold a meeting with all the parents, players and coaches of each team at the beginning of the season. They will agree on the number of tournaments they will participate in and the Director will figure out the cost for all the tournaments. This cost (usually around $2,000 for 6-7 tournaments), along with a $2,500 per coaches stipend, $75 uniform cost, $50 equipment cost, and any per diem for the coach to attend out of town trips at $150/day will be added together and divided evenly amongst all the players and that will be the club cost. So with the example above, say three of the 7 tournaments are out of town at two days a piece, you are looking at about $5,525 per team. Then if you have 10 players on the team, each person's club fees will be $552.50. If there are two coaches helping your team, then the fee would be $892.50 per player due to the extra $2500 and $150 per day in per diem. (The example provided above is for tournaments in Denver, Amarillo, El Paso, and 4 in Albuquerque.)
.
Could you tell me some of the tournaments that were attended last year by this club?
.
Answer: In years past, the Northern Elite Volleyball Club has had teams participate in tournaments hosted in Albuquerque, Amarillo, Dallas, Denver, Durango, El Paso, Lubbock, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. All teams will have the ability to participate in whichever tournaments they select, but it is highly encouraged to participate in tournaments according to the ability of the players. For example: You don't want to take a 12 and under team that has never played before to a National Tournament in Denver. The players can gain the necessary experience in local tournaments and possibly one or two regional tournaments at a much lesser cost. The Club Director will provide this guidance when creating the schedules at the beginning of the season.
.
Have well have the Northern Elite team's done in tournaments?
.
Answer: The Northern Elite Volleyball Club has had a number of teams compete for tournament championships and represent the club at the highest levels. The club has had teams win various Regional Tournaments throughout the years and compete for 1st place in Nationally hosted tournaments as well.
.
What is a Master Coach?
.
In running Northern Elite, Brian Ainsworth will be the Director and Master Coach to all the coaches for the season. What this means is that he will be working with all the coaches within the club to establish well defined guidelines on drills, techniques, overall development of each athlete. In addition, as he is a High School Volleyball Head Coach, he will be instructing players within the allotted 7.5 hours per week of instruction time allowed by the New Mexico Activities Association. With both these items in place, we believe the overall development of each player will be enhanced.
